On Friday May 24, we continue our "Fantastic 5" presentation of five El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame Honored Inductees in alphabetical order by their first name: El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame Founder, Hall of Fame Inaugural President and Class of 1990 Member Bufe C. Morrison who championed the idea that led to the creation of the El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame in 1988, College All American for Texas Western and he has been inducted into 6 different Halls of Fame; Class of 2003 Member Cerjio “Marty” Martinez who spent nearly 30 years contributing to the welfare of baseball in the Southwest Region as a "Umpire Extraordinaire", league organizer and administrator; El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame Board of Directors and Class of 1989 Member Charles R. “Smitty” Smith a 2X All District player at Austin High School, posted a pitching record in Semi-Pro baseball of 111–26 and he was offered Professional baseball contracts by three different organizations; Class of 1999 Member Chris Forbes who delivered El Paso’s first Texas High School Baseball State Championship in 60 years winning the Class 5A title in 2009, earned the 2009 Texas High School “Coach of the Year" honor and was inducted into the Texas High School Coaches Baseball Hall of Fame in 2013 and Class of 1991 Member Cliff Hill who started pitching in 1912 and was one of El Paso’s all time pitching greats with a lifetime record of 105 wins and 48 losses . . .
