Armando Romero Jr.
Armando Romero Jr. began his baseball journey playing youth baseball at the age of 10 years old. His life journey was nurtured by his Parents Armando Romero Sr. and Rosa Maria Romero. He found constant support from his siblings Claudia and Ricardo Romero. His children Julian Armando Romero and Alyssa Romero are also a part of supporting their Dad as has his Sister-in-law Penelope Elizabeth Trammel Romero. He played varsity baseball from 1991-1993 at Andress High School and was part of the 1996 El Paso Community College team. At Andress High School, he was the All District left-handed pitcher with El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame Honoree Bryan Tambone as a teammate. He pitched against El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame Honorees Rocky Coppinger, Carlos Lazcano, Alex Peña, Jorge Perez, Kevin Ham and others during his school and advanced playing career. He has dedicated his life to developing young athletes and nurturing talent leaving a remarkable legacy. Many of his former student athletes are now leaders, running programs across Texas and cultivating new generations of players thanks to his example. His coaching journey began in 1994 as a Head Coach in the Boys Baseball of El Paso program. In 1999 he was a volunteer Assistant Coach at Americas High School. He served as Head Baseball coach at Burges High School and Bel Air High School guiding his teams to multiple District and Bi-District championships and an Area Championship. His leadership was well-known for helping students excel on and off the field. He continued as a volunteer Coach for summer programs. In 2019, Romero earned the honor of being named El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame Nemo Herrera High School Coach of the Year.
